Lauren is a speech language pathologist clinical fellow at Swallowing Systems Core under the direction of Dr. Plowman. Lauren graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University. Lauren developed a passion for working with patients with ALS during her clinical rotations in graduate school in long term acute care and skilled nursing settings.

Lauren grew up in Fort Myers, Florida. Throughout her education and career, she has served patients in a variety of settings in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and New York. She has moved four times in the last five years with her husband Chris who served in the Army. Lauren and Chris are happy to put down roots in Gainesville. During her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, reading, Gator football, and spending time with her family.
