Kelby Magennis is a Research Coordinator for Dr. Plowman and the Swallowing Systems Core. She was born and raised in the great state of New Jersey but has spent the past 15 years living in various locations throughout the United States, most recently Colorado Springs, CO. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Delaware where upon she worked as a medical lab scientist in the Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. To satisfy her desire to affect a larger audience, Kelby furthered her education and obtained a Master of Public Health degree in Community Health. Since graduating with her M.P.H., Kelby has served the community in many professional capacities to include: community emergency preparedness, military mental health education, and grant coordination and writing for a large Federally Qualified Health Center. Her diverse background demonstrates her commitment and passion for providing quality health services to communities and individuals. In her free time, Kelby enjoys traveling, hiking, repurposing old furniture, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. ​
