About Irene Calvo, M.Sc
Irene Calvo is a licensed Speech Language Therapist from Italy. She completed her Bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Milan, and her Master’s degree in Clinical Speech and Language Studies at Trinity College Dublin. Irene is passionate about dysphagia and international health and development, and has worked in Tanzania in two centers for disabled children. She is currently working as a SLP in a post-acute rehabilitation hospital in Milan, working with both adults and pediatric populations with neurological disorders. She came to the University of Florida to study the neurophysiology of swallowing and motor learning adaptation under the supervision of Dr. Humbert. Irene plans to integrate clinical and research work in her future practice.
