Alessandra Gallasegui hails from Clearwater, Florida and is the Swallowing System Core’s laboratory engineer. With a bachelor’s degree in physics and two master’s degrees from the University of Florida in electrical and mechanical engineering, she has quickly become instrumental in many of the studies conducted by our lab members. She assists with automation of analysis and calibration of equipment as well as critical assessment of methods and analysis.
In addition to being a strong analytical mind, she is known to enhance the lab further with her contributions of Friendship Bread and other delicious baked goodies. Along with her tasty contributions, we enjoy her punny shirts and anecdotes about her cat, Tortellini, and her cockatiel, Louis.
