Clinical Fellowship Position (CFY)
The Swallowing Systems Core at the University of Florida is seeking applicants for a 12-month clinical fellowship under the mentorship and funding of Dr. Emily Plowman. Applicants should have (or about to have) completed their masters in Speech-Language Pathology and hold a strong interest in acquired bulbar dysfunction in Neurologic Disease. The successful applicant will work on funded studies by the National Institutes of Health, ALS Association and Clinical and Translational Science Institute in patient populations that include: ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy, Inclusion Body Myositis and Muscular Dystrophy. The successful clinic fellow will work one day in an outpatient clinic with Dr. Plowman and the remainder of their time in the research laboratory doing clinical research evaluations, treatments and analysis of respiratory, speech and swallowing clinical research outcomes.
