NSSR Doc Student Stephanie Watts Passes her Comps!

Third year NSSR doctoral Student Stephanie Randall Watts passed her Doctoral Competency Examination and officially became a Doctoral Candidate this month. Watts research is focused on understanding the relationship between cough, airway protection and swallowing function. Gaziano receives The 2014 American Board of Swallowing & Swallowing Disorders Award

Joy Gaziano was presented with the 2014 American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders Award for her research investigating factors affecting return to oral intake in head and neck cancer patients post-endoscopic lumen restoration. Joy was presented with this award at the national Dysphagia Research Society meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. This marks consecutive back-to-back years that someone from NSSR has been the recipient of this prestigious national award. Way to go Joy!
