Lab Members Present at the Center for Neurogenetics Community Focus Symposium
Dr. Emily Plowman was an invited faculty speaker at the Center for Neurogenetics first annual Community Focus Symposium at the University of Florida Cancer Genetics Research Complex on July 22nd. This symposium is designed to provide patients and families with updates on treatments for a variety of neurologic genetic diseases. Dr. Plowman’s talk, titled “Just Do It” impact of Exercise on Swallowing Function in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis” provided an overview of recent updates and research performed in her laboratory. Second year doctoral student Raele Robison also presented her research performed under the guidance of Dr. Plowman that investigated the impact of a novel tongue exercise program on swallowing function in ALS.
